SWell Quality Improvement Project

This project is a Quality Improvement (QI) project which will enable us to expand the SWell website into an interactive online hub that supports delivery of SWell sessions and helps evaluate their reach and impact.

Project Summary

This project aims to tests the use of online training for SWell facilitators, carry out user-testing of the online portal, and pilot digital methods for monitoring session delivery, attendance, and staff wellbeing over time.

It will also explore whether implementing SWell can improve longer-term psychological wellbeing in participating units and whether this may have wider benefits for staff retention and sickness absence.

This project will begin by inviting SWell facilitators who were involved in the earlier feasibility study in paediatric critical care and emergency settings. Participation will include completing and reviewing facilitator training, testing portal functions, running and completing wellbeing surveys. Facilitators will also contribute their practical expertise to help ensure the portal and intervention remain feasible and acceptable in paediatric hospital care.

This quality improvement project is piloting new digital methods for facilitator training, session monitoring, and exploring staff wellbeing.
